This is a large house with extensive gardens. Modern design that is displayed and made open to building a strong relationship between the house inside and out. Raw materials such as stone and steel, used in this building. As a transparent glass wall in each room, the purpose is to see a vast garden view and pool outside. The interior design has a high volume of double with the construction of spatial experience of open and closed to create the desired home improvements. Villa Vauban was inspired by an art gallery of Luxembourg, which consists of two floors and wearing brass perforated panels. The building is located in the green belt has been hosting the city and the city art gallery since 1959, named Philippe Schmit Architect create a comprehensive plan for renovation and expansion of existing Villa in 2002. On May 1, 2010 the new Villa Vauban – Musée d’Art de la Ville de Luxembourg reopened after restoration, and display works of art from the collections of the city as well as temporary exhibitions with works on loan from international museums.
