The Kimber Modern represents an almost perfect coincidence of site, program and architectural form. The form derives simply from a precipitously sloped site with parking placed underneath. The low-slung design provides a multi-leveled environment that is never more than one story from the ground, providing a sensitive buffer between the sheer commerce of the vibrant Congress Avenue corridor and the quaint South Austin neighborhoods to the east and south. Classic bar in Prague designed by RDD plc. With a modern touch is the legacy of the church. Tom’s Bar. The result is a magnificent domed hall which also reflects the classic cosmopolitan expectations of the client. and has been awarded as ‘Best Café, Bar, Nightclub or Lounge’ of the European Hotel Design Award. Painting the ceiling was restored by local craftsmen using traditional lime-based paint to mimic the original color palette. Barrel-vaulted double height hall provided both inspiration and constraint. In terms of service problem resolution, a freestanding bar with more than a display panel used to hide the size of air conditioning systems, zone and stills services elevators, offering an elegant match to all forms of monastic Space.
